Primavera is where everyone begins their journey into Socius. It’s a sleepy little hamlet, surrounded by picturesque mountains and covered in blossoming cherry trees. It’s also under constant attack from the nearby dungeons. There are several things to see and experience in Primavera, and the friendly villagers are happy to sell you equipment and dispense advice – even if most of that advice revolves around getting laid so you can get out there and fight some bad guys.
Mount Mirage
Mount Mirage is that huge mountain that can be seen from the edge of town. Beyond it lies the path to the rest of Socius. In the way is the old dwarven mine, uninhabited since the rare ores mined there began to transform all the inhabitants into horrible monsters. If only some brave adventurers would clear the path!
Blossom Lake
On the opposite end of town is a beautiful lake surrounded by Primavera Town’s iconic cherry trees. Its surface is just like a mirror, if a mirror were teeming with fishlike monsters baying for your blood. Legend has it that when the monsters first began to appear, a group of elves tried to flee their woodland home across the lake – but one of the things they were fleeing came with them. Now it lurks in the elven shipwreck, spewing its foul monster brood into the water and waiting patiently for foolhardy adventurers to pass by.
Market Square
This is where most characters will arrive in Socius. In the centre is a large flat stone with an enormous crack running through the middle. Beside it is a huge granite monument, as yet blank. Around the edge of the square are numerous little shops, selling adventuring supplies such as armour, weaponry, potions, and food. There’s also a shop that appears to sell nothing but sex toys.
Boarding House
You didn’t think you’d be turned out on the streets, did you? No, the Primavera Townsfolk have graciously provided a boarding house where adventurers can stay for the much discounted price of 150 Oro a month. The boarding house contains minimal home comforts – warm blankets, cosy firesides, and of course, a king size bed in every room.
Residential District
Of course, if adventurers have the coin, there are other accommodation options available. Most houses in Primavera Town are moderately sized townhouses, and a few are on the market for 500 Oro apiece.
